Lantern Verbal & Quantitative Education Bonanza winners emerged

Miss Jola Johnson, a seven-year-old primary 3 pupil of French Village Staff School, Ajara – Badagry Lagos emerged the national winner of Lantern Books Verbal and Quantitative Competition. She goes home with N100, 000 and a laptop while her school gets N500, 000, a complete desktop computer and library copies of all Lantern Books. The grand draw took place at the combo hall of Lagos Television (LTV); also had regional winners across the country such as Naphte Jonathan from Sharon Rose School,

Literamed Publications Nig Ltd, Publishers of Lantern Books in a bid to promote the intellectual and overall development of the Nigerian child, instituted an annual competition involving all schools across the country last year.

The company introduced the Lantern Verbal and Quantitative competition to reward children and further encourage the development of their overall intellect.

The challenges facing the nation at the moment requires sharp attention only sharp minds can provide. The human mind has unfathomable potentials but would remain blunt if left dormant. The Nigerian child is faced with the challenge of keeping up with his counterparts from other nations of the world. Part of this challenge is intellectual development and reasoning skills.

Literamed Publications pioneered the introduction of Verbal Reasoning & Quantitative aptitude in 1990 (being the first publisher to introduce such publications in Nigerian Education) and the impacts have been innumerable. Apart from achievement in the aspect of development of the child’s intellectual capacity, the V & Q has emerged as a valuable tool and panacea to wider range of problems posed by our dwindling educational system.
